Abstract
Avtor v prvem delu s študijem strokovne literature oriše ekološki problem, ki ga ustvarjajo invazivne tujerodne ribje vrste, in opiše njihove splošne značilnosti. V drugem delu analizira in interpretira uradne podatke Zavoda za ribištvo Slovenije glede številčnosti, časovne dinamike in lokacije pojavljanja tujerodnih ribjih vrst na preučevanem območju.

Title:Alien fish species in the Adriatic basin of Slovenia
Abstract:
The diploma thesis examines the distribution of alien fish species in the Adriatic basin of Slovenia. The purpose of the work is to determine alien fish species that occur in the Adriatic basin; discover the causes of their presence; discover how they affect native fish species and show their location and spatial distribution. In the first part, by studying scientific literature, the author outlines the ecological problem created by invasive alien fish species and describes their general characteristics. In the second part, he analyzes data from the Fisheries research institute of Slovenia regarding the abundance, temporal dynamics and the location of alien fish species in the studied area. With the help of GIS, maps of the distribution of alien fish species were created. After analyzing the literature and data, the author confirms two of the three hypotheses. The data indicate that 12 alien fish species are present in the area of the Adriatic basin. The author also comes to the conclusion that alien fish species are most densely populated in the lower reaches of the Vipava river. The third hypothesis is only partially confirmed, as the most numerous alien species in the studied area are rainbow trout, pumpkinseed and mosquitofish. The author made a correct conclusion regarding the abundance of the first two species, but he listed farmed carp as the third most common.
