This thesis focuses on the study of autothematisation in the poetry of France Prešeren and
Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. It examines their biographies, outlines the artistic periods that
influenced their works, traces the typical segmentation of their works into different periods, and
identifies the various influences relevant for the analysis of their works. Before delving into
this analysis, the thesis defines the term autothematics. Finally, the analysis of the works with
autothematic elements is followed by a comparison of the observed characteristics.
