Abstract
V diplomskem delu sem analizirala prve tri poetične drame Daneta Zajca: Otroka reke, Potohodec in Voranc.

Title:The motif of death and the motif of evil in poetic dramas of Dane Zajc
Abstract:
In my undergraduate thesis, I analysed the first three poetic dramas of the author Dane Zajc: Otroka reke, Potohodec and Voranc. When addressing each of the three poetic dramas, I wrote information about the outcome, performances, and possible reactions of critics to the dramas and performances. While examining the dramas, I paid particular attention to the motif of death and the motif of evil, which were present in all three dramas and manifested in them in different ways. I found that Dane Zajc adheres to some characteristics of poetic dramas, but there are also deviations. Through these three dramas, we can see how the time and space of the event gradually develop from the absolutely abstract to the precisely defined. In his first three plays, as well as in all his other literary works, we can see how his life influenced his writing and the choice of themes and motifs for his writing. His poetry and drama are imbued with a dark feeling of the world, the cruelty of life and a feeling of loneliness, which characterized Dane Zajc even in his childhood during the time of the Second World War.
