The central focus of my thesis is the interplay between the outer and inner spaces and the mental state of the people inhabiting these spaces. Our home is a place where we can allow ourselves to be who we really are. Shielded from the critical gaze of others, we feel more relaxed and at ease in our own space and, as a result, we express ourselves more authentically, which can be a metaphor for the expression of a person’s psychological state and their state of being. And so, in my thesis, I highlight the interplay of the spaces which people inhabit and trace the image-making influences between unusual relationships. With the help of literature and articles, in the theoretical part I discuss space as a constitutive element of the human psyche and thereby of its inner space. In the practical part, I create works which infiltrate this intimate space and show the tension of the relationships between outer and inner spaces, which provide the setting for the actions within the human inner space.
