The bachelor's thesis “Designing a Set for Assembling a Potter's Wheel at Home” examines the problem of the high market prices of quality pottery spindles. This segment includes the choice of production technology, the technology and implementation of transmissions, ergonomics and user experience, transport and other challenges that arise when using a potter's wheel. The first part of the bachelor's thesis deals with the potter's wheel, its development through history, the types of mechanical transmissions, and additional equipment. The shapes, dimensions and weight of the potter's wheel are analyzed, which play an important role in its ergonomically friendly use. By researching pottery spindle users, their needs, desires and critiques were identified. In addition, research in the field of postal services has been included to determine the most favorable distribution and, consequently, price of the potter's wheel. The analysis identified the key features that define a well-designed pottery spindle. The second part shows the process of finding a solution with the help of sketches, concepts and the final model. The final solution of the bachelor's thesis solves the problem regarding the user experience with pottery spindles in the medium price range and regarding the high prices of quality pottery spindles.
