In this Diploma thesis we studied and compared the intended land use based on municipal spatial planning acts (hereinafter OPA) in the selected period in the whole area of three municipalities in Zasavje, i.e. Hrastnik, Trbovlje and Zagorje ob Savi. We used data on basic intended land use (hereinafter ONRP) from currently valid municipal spatial plans (hereinafter OPN) and digitized data from spatial acts from 2003/2004 (spatial components of the municipality's medium-term social plans – hereinafter PS SDPO). We first presented the basic demographic and economic characteristics for all three studied municipalities, focusing on mining activities. Continuing our work, we presented the methodology we used to compare the basic land use of the aforementioned municipalities. We used the methodology from the Diploma thesis of the author Toja Požun, 2012. In the analytical part of the Diploma thesis, comparisons of the basic purposeful use in two periods were made for each municipality, followed by a comparison between all three considered municipalities and an analysis of the area of land use. We processed the data, analysed it and created displays of changes in basic land use using the ArcGIS 10.8.1 software package, Microsoft Excel was used to create tables. All results of the comparison are presented in the last part of the Diploma thesis. The analysis of the results showed that in the selected period, the areas for buildings, agricultural areas and forest areas changed the most, while the water areas and other areas remained almost unchanged in the selected period. The changes were influenced by the restructuring of the economy, especially mining, which caused further socio-economic changes.
