Abstract
Izbrana dela Nekoč (Morris Gleitzman), Zadnji šah mat (Gabriella Saab) in Yossel: April 19, 1943 (Joe Kubert) magistrsko delo analizira na podlagi kriterijev in smernic določenih v teoretičnem okvirju magistrskega dela.

Title:The Holocaust in Literature: Novels, Comic Books and Children Stories
Abstract:
This master’s thesis deals with representation of the Holocaust in literature, with an emphasis on representation in children’s stories, novels, and comic books. The thesis firstly focuses on the historical development of holocaust literature from WWII onward, and later delves into the relationship between fiction and historiography and subsequent problems fiction deals with when it is trying to present historic topics. Next chapter presents specific problems authors face when writing about the Holocaust, and possible guidelines they should adhere to. Afterwards, the practical aspect shows specific problems each of the genres of the thesis deals with, and possible problems that can occur. The thesis presents one work from each genre, with which it tries to answer the research question. Selected fictional works Once (Morris Gleitzman), The Last Check Mate (Gabriella Saab), and Yossel: April 19, 1943 (Joe Kubert) are analyzed with the help of the criteria and guidelines set out in the theoretical framework of the thesis. Based on the analysis, we can conclude that the selected works manage to represent the topics regarding the Holocaust in an authentic manner by adhering to different guidelines and approaches, even though utilizing different instances of artistic freedom is necessary in doing so.
