Abstract
Diplomska naloga vsebuje pregled tujih in domačih virov s področja pridelave ameriških borovnic (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) v različnih oblikah zavarovanega prostora.

Title:Production of American blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) in different forms of protected area
Abstract:
The following thesis examines foreign and domestic literature on the cultivation of American blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) in various forms of protected area. According to the examined literature, we can conclude that the cultivation of American blueberries in Slovenia is the most effective when the special anti-hail and anti-insect nets are used and the irrigation is adequate. The thesis presents different studies about covered protective spaces in agriculture. According to them, the cultivation of American blueberries in high tunnels has negative effects on the physiology and morphology of plants and the construction is more expensive. On the other side, fruit, grown in high tunnels, can be presented on the market sooner. Studies also show, that the cultivation of American blueberries under photoselective nets changes the light colour spectrum and diffuses the light, while at the same time affects the photosynthetic activity and the lower leaf temperature due to shading. A study, comparing the influence of different types of foils showed, that less chlorophyll and carotenoids were formed under the yellow foil, the photosynthesis was greatest under the transparent foil (or no foil at all), and the transpiration was best in 'Bluetta' type of blueberries. One of the studies also presented the response of American blueberries to high soil temperatures – the high substrate temperature greatly reduced root growth.
