Abstract
Orbitalno varjenje TIG nerjavnih jekel danes predstavlja način visokokakovostnega spajanja cevovodov v farmacevtski in prehrambeni industriji. Za sam postopek so potrebni tudi zaščitni plini, ki preprečijo oksidacijo zvarnega spoja. V diplomskem delu smo prikazali vpliv O2 in vrste zaščitnega plina na kakovost zvarnih spojev pri orbitalnem varjenju TIG nerjavnih jekel. Na osnovi eksperimentov smo ugotovili, da pri izdelavi spenjalnih varkov koncentracija O2 že pri 400 ppm vidno vpliva na kakovost zvarnega spoja. Ugotovili smo tudi, da pri koncentraciji O2 nad 200 ppm na kakovost zvarnega spoja bistveno vpliva kakovost zaščitnega plina. Kot najbolj pomembno štejemo ugotovitev, da je plin N2 ekonomsko najbolj ugoden za izdelavo zvarnih spojev pri orbitalnem varjenju TIG nerjavnih jekel.

Title:Quality influence of shielding gases in orbital TIG welding of stainless steels
Abstract:
Orbital TIG welding of stainless steels today represents a method of high-quality joining of pipelines in the pharmaceutical and food industries. The process also requires shielding gases to prevent oxidation of the weld joint. In the thesis, we demonstrated the influence of O₂ and the type of shielding gas on the quality of weld joints in orbital TIG welding of stainless steels. Based on experiments, we found that in the production of butt welds, the O₂ concentration already at 400 ppm has a visible effect on the quality of the weld joint. We also found that when the O₂ concentration is above 200 ppm, the quality of the welding joint is significantly affected by the quality of the shielding gas. We consider most important the finding that N₂ gas is the most economically advantageous for the production of weld joints in orbital TIG welding of stainless steels.
