In the final thesis, we present the process of constructing a planetary gearbox for a Formula Student race car. The planetary gearbox is one of the elements of the racing car that transmits power from the electric motor to the tires. We designed the planetary gear according to the performance of the electric motor and the desired driving characteristics of the racing car. We started the design by calculating the basic properties of the gears, which we also simulated in the computer program KissSoft and the entire gearbox in the program KissSys. Based on these simulations we constructed the entire planetary gearbox and prescribed the properties of the most important parts that must be achieved during the production phase to ensure the correct operating of the gearbox.
