Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava oblikovanje grafične podobe ob izdaji glasbenega albuma. V teoretičnem delu je raziskana zgodovina in razvoj oblikovanja naslovnic glasbenih albumov. Konkretneje so bili opredeljeni različni mediji oblikovanja, ki jih lahko razdelimo na fizične in digitalne. Skupno vsi ti mediji tvorijo celostno vizualno podobo glasbenega albuma. V omenjenem sklopu diplomskega dela so bili raziskani še današnji trendi oblikovanja ter okviren postopek oblikovanja vizualne podobe. Postopek oblikovanja, ki zajema izdelavo naslovnice albuma, zgoščenke, ovitka za zgoščenko ter majice, je podrobneje opisan v eksperimentalnem delu. Grafike so bile pripravljene v programu Adobe Illustrator. Tisk na zgoščenko in ovitek je bil izveden s tehniko UV kapljičnega tiska, majice pa so bile potiskane s tehniko sitotiska. V sklopu eksperimentalnega dela je bila opravljena še analiza z napravo za spremljanje očesnih premikov (ang. eye-tracker). Naprava je izmerila aktivnost očesnih premikov ob prikazu več različic oblikovanih medijev. V nadaljevanju naloge so predstavljeni rezultati tiska oziroma izdelave izbranih medijev vizualne podobe. Analizirane so bile pomanjkljivosti ter prednosti pri izdelavi posameznih medijev. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da so bile tehnike in metode izdelave ustrezne povsod, razen pri izdelavi ovitka, kjer se UV kapljični tisk ni najbolje izkazal. V sklopu rezultatov so bile predstavljene in analizirane še meritve z napravo za spremljanje očesnih premikov. Opravljeni sta bili dve statistiki meritev. Prva na podlagi rezultatov opazovanja štirih različnih barv ovitka ter druga na podlagi opazovanja štirih različnih slogov naslovne pisave. Na podlagi meritev je bilo ugotovljeno, da je za ovitek najbolj primerna bela barva, naslovna pisava Bebas Neue Regular ter drobni tisk v velikosti 5 tipografskih enot.

Title:
Designing a visual identity for a music album
Abstract:
The dissertation deals with the process of designing a music album visual identity. In the theoretical part, the history and development of the design of music album covers were researched, more specifically, different types of physical and digital design media were defined. Namely, all these media form the overall visual identity of a music album. The foregoing part of the dissertation researches contemporary design trends and the process of creating a visual identity. The design process was thoroughly described in the experimental part of the dissertation, with the production of the album cover, CD, CD cover and T-shirts included. The graphics were created in Adobe Illustrator. The CD and its cover were printed by the UV inkjet printing method, while the T-shirts were screen printed. In the experimental part, an analysis was also performed with the Eye-tracker device. The device measured the activity of eye movements while displaying several versions of the designed media. In the continuation of the dissertation, the results of printing or production of visual media were presented, disadvantages and advantages in the production of individual media were analyzed. It has been established that the manufacturing techniques and methods were appropriate everywhere except in the manufacture of the cover, where the expected results were not achieved with the UV inkjet printing. As a part of the results, measurements of eye movements with the Eye-tracker device were also presented and analyzed and two statistics were produced on the basis of mentioned measurements. The first based on the results of observing four different colors of the cover and the second based on observing four different title fonts. It has been established that the most suitable color for the cover was white, the best title font was Bebas Neue Regular and a fine print in the size of 5 point.
