Abstract
Diplomsko delo zajema opis korakov izdelave miraskopa, od priprave CAM programov, priprav za vpetje obdelovancev, obdelave surovcev na CNC obdelovalnem centru Doosan NX 6500 II, ter opis štirih stopenj površinske obdelave – brušenje, poliranje, nikljanje in kromanje. Na koncu so karakterizirane zrcalne površine. Tekom izdelave smo bili postavljeni pred oviro, ki se je nanašala na kvaliteto zrcalnih površin miraskopa. Probleme smo reševali z dodatno vmesno operacijo brušenja zrcalnih površin. Končni rezultati so zadovoljivi saj miraskop deluje kot je bilo v osnovi pričakovano, vendar ne dovolj dobro, da bi lahko zaključili s projektom. Ravno zaradi tega bo v prihodnosti sledilo dodatno poliranje zrcalnih površin z upanjem, da bo dosežena ciljna hrapavost in reflektivnost zrcalnih površin.

Title:Fabrication and characterization of mirascope mirror surfaces
Abstract:
Thesis presents steps involved in the making of a mirascope. These consists of the programming of CAM programs, making clamping setups, cutting of raw materials on the CNC machining centre Doosan NX 6500 II, all the way to surface treatment - polishing, nickel plating and chrome plating. Characterization of the surfaces is described in the final part of the thesis. During manufacturing we faced obstacles due to the quality of the mirror surfaces. These were solved with an additional operation of grinding. The end results are satisfactory as the mirascope works as expected, but not well enough to complete the project. Therefore, additional polishing of the mirror surfaces will hopefully help to minimise the roughness and improve the reflectivity of the mirror surfaces.
