Abstract
V vsakdanjem življenju smo v stiku s številnimi kemikalijami. Zaradi svojih lastnosti nekatere povzročajo škodo zdravju, okolju in gospodarstvu.

Title:Storage of chemicals
Abstract:
Everyday we come in contact with many chemicals. Due to their properties, some cause damage to health, the environment and the economy. Chemicals are classified into categories that are determined for safety in their use and storage. The industry uses large quantities of chemicals at once, so they need to be stored. We need to store them properly to avoid unplanned reactions and consequent accidents. Proper storage is ensured by law and regulations, but accidents do happen nonetheless. Between 2010 and 2020, 334 accidents occurred in OECD countries due to the storage of chemicals, with serious consequences. Accidents happen in different industries and for different reasons. Causes of accidents include human error, poor maintenance, equipment failure, and also neglection of safety. Neglecting of safety leads to many serious accidents, which is unacceptable. An example of such accident is explosion of ammonium nitrate in Lebanon, which claimed 204 lives. Use se of chemicals cannot be avoided and because they have hazardous properties, safety requirements must be strictly observed during use and storage and critical points must be strictly controlled.
