Due to increasingly high requirements for low-energy buildings and efficient energy use,
mechanical ventilation in the form of recuperators or regenerators is installed in all new
buildings. The thesis discusses the potential method of making a honeycomb regenerator
used as a heat exchanger in a local ventilation device using fused filament fabrication. Fort
his purpose, a measuring line was set up, which enabled the measurement of inlet and outlet
air temperatures and air flow trough the regenerator. With the measured values, we were
able to determine the thermal efficiency of the regenerator and the specific heat of the 3D
printed honeycomb.
