Pogled javnosti na socialno delo in center za socialno delo : diplomsko delo

Že od začetka obiskovanja Fakultete za socialno delo se izven nje srečujem z negativnimi komentarji na temo socialnega dela in dela centrov za socialno delo. To me je zelo presenetilo, saj se na fakulteti učimo, da socialno delo pomaga ljudem in da je tukaj za ljudi. Prav zaradi tega sem se odločila, da bom v sklopu diplomske naloge raziskala, kakšno je mnenje javnosti o socialnem delu in kaj bi lahko pripomoglo k temu, da bi javnost videla socialno delo takšno, kot ga vidimo mi, ki se s tem ukvarjamo in vemo, da išče v ljudeh dobre stvari in jim pomaga pri ovirah, na katere naletijo. Za merski instrument sem izbrala anketni vprašalnik, v katerem sem želela izvedeti, kakšen je njihov splošen vtis o socialnem delu in centrih za socialno delo; kako vidijo socialno delo; iz katerih virov so dobili informacije o njem; ali so že kdaj obiskali center za socialno delo; ali ga vidijo kot varen prostor; kakšen je njihov pogled nanj in kako bi na splošno ocenili delo socialnih delavcev. V moji raziskavi je sodelovalo 216 ljudi, od tega 172 žensk in 43 moških. 105 posameznikov je bilo starih od 15 do 26 let; enako število jih je bilo tudi iz starostne skupine od 27 do 60 let; iz zadnje starostne skupine nad 60 let pa jih je anketni vprašalnik izpolnilo 6. V raziskavi sem ugotovila, da se je velika večina že srečala s centri za socialno delo in da imajo ljudje tako o socialnem delu kot tudi o centrih za socialno delo bolj pozitiven kot negativen pogled. Želijo si vedeti več o socialnem delu, prav tako pa vidijo center za socialno delo kot varen prostor, kamor se lahko zatečejo po pomoč, če jo potrebujejo. Med rešitvami, ki sem jih navedla na koncu diplomske naloge, predlagam večje ozaveščanje o socialnem delu, ki bi se moralo začeti že v vrtcih in osnovnih šolah, ter dneve odprtih vrat na centrih za socialno delo, kjer bi lahko ljudje spoznali delo socialnih delavcev in dobili informacije, ki jih potrebujejo.

• Title: Public view of social work and the center for social work

Abstract

Since I started attending the Faculty of Social Work, I have been confronted with negative comments about social work and the work of social work centres. I was very surprised by this, because at college we learn that social work helps people and that it is here for people. That is why I decided to do my thesis to explore the public's opinion of social work and what could help the public to see social work as we see it, as those of us who work in social work and know that social work looks for the good in people and helps them to overcome the obstacles they encounter. I chose a survey questionnaire as a measuring instrument to find out about their general impression of social work and social work centres; how they see social work; what sources they have used to get information about social work; whether they have ever visited a social work centre; whether they see the social work centre as a safe place; how they feel about the social work centre and how they would rate the work of social workers in general. In my study, 216 people took part, 172 women and 43 men. 105 individuals were aged between 15 and 26; the same number of people were in the 27–60 age group; 6 of the last age group, aged 60+, completed the questionnaire. In my research, I found that the vast majority of people had already encountered social work centres and that people had a more positive than negative view of both social work and social work centres. They want to know more about social work, and they see the social work centre as a safe place where they can go to get help if they need it. Among the solutions I have mentioned at the end of my thesis, I suggest more awareness raising about social work, which should start in kindergartens and primary schools, and open days at social work centres, where people can learn about the work of social workers and get the information they need.
