In my thesis, I focused on researching the experiences of female students of the Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana, on pornography. In the review of the issue, I presented the concept of pornography and defined the behind-the-scenes of the pornographic industry, both from a financial point of view as well as the experiences of porn actresses. In the second chapter, I touched on the concept of gender, especially the origins of gender differences, and feminist theories of inequality. I also tried to outline the notion of gender through pornography. The research I conducted in two steps: first I gathered the views of the students by means of a questionnaire (third, fourth year, master's degree, additional year of study students). In step two, I conducted group discussion with six participants surveyed that commented on the results of the questionnaire. I presented the research results in a separate chapter. I found that pornography is still a taboo topic in society and that female students are of the opinion that pornography should be addressed during primary school, since most of them were exposed to pornography at that age. Above all, pornography should be viewed and understood critically. There are no organizations in Slovenia that address this topic, but if there are, the students do not know of them. In the research, I also found that female students are keenly aware of patriarchy and are of the opinion that it is clearly mirrored in the pornographic literature. I conclude that we should make pornography a public subject of discussions, especially its the patriarchal ideology and imagery, educate ourselves and thus take another step in dismantling it.
