Abstract

Title:Tension analysis of the Formula Student stabilizer at dynamic loads while driving
Abstract:
The stabilizer is one of the key components of the vehicle, which transfers load fractions from one side of the chassis to the other. The main goal of the thesis was the numerical analysis of the stress state of the main stabilizer piece, the stabilizer flappy, on the front and rear of the chassis of the Student Formula. The geometric composition of the formula was modeled in the NX program, and then imported into the Adams View program as a CAD model. There, the mutual relations of the parts were defined and simulation load analyses were performed for different dynamic load scenarios, which can be compared with the scenarios that occur when driving a formula in competitions. Each scenario had several orientations of the stabilizer’s flappy, which affects the loads on it and the driving characteristics. A comparative analysis of the stresses in both stabilizer’s flappys with respect to their orientation was performed. In the end, the results were obtained and evaluated according to the fatigue characteristics of the material from which the stabilizer sheet is made.
