In addition to books, the library also takes care of non-book material, which includes videos and films. In the graduation seminar we took a closer look at the development of the film collection at the Bežigrad Library, which has faced several changes of media over the years. A decline in film rentals has been observed over the last three years, with the coronavirus being the main contributor. Coronavirus had the biggest impact on the decline in lending, but other factors and services have also contributed. In our graduation seminar we learned about streaming content and tried to find out how it influenced the borrowing and acquisition of films in the Bežigrad Library. The obsolescence or "replacement" of older media has led to the library changingthe labelling and layout of its film collection. We have come to the conclusion that the Bežigrad Library already suspects the decline of the library's film collection, as in recent years there has been a drastic drop in borrowing, with the coronavirus being the main contributor. However, procurement remains similar to previous years. We found out that three systems have been used to label and organizating films at the Bežigrad Library since 1988.
