Abstract
Osrednja tema magistrskega dela so lekarne in njihov razvoj v Škofji Loki, Poljanski in Selški dolini. Kljub samostanski lekarni in kasneje ustanovljeni javni lekarni so ljudje zelo cenili znanje zdravilcev, ranocelnikov in padarjev.

Title:Pharmacy in the Škofja Loka area: From convent pharmacies to Gorenjske lekarne
Abstract:
The central topic of the master's thesis is the evolution of pharmacies in the town of Škofja Loka, Poljane valley and Selca valley. Development of present day pharmacies in Škofja Loka starts with the establishment of the first pharmacy on Mestni trg (main town square) in the 19th century. Before that, a pharmacy operated from the Škofja Loka convent, first run by Clarissine and later Ursuline order. The first trained pharmacist among the Clarissine nuns is mentioned in the 17th century. Despite the presence of the convent pharmacy and later public pharmacy, people often relied on the knowledge of various healers and quacks. The collected literature, archival, newspaper, material and oral sources cover the period until 1980-ties. The following chapter covers partially preserved material culture of the old pharmacy offices from the end of the 19th and start of the 20th centuries.
