Collected material and the analysis of Slovene poetry writing during exceptional periods in European history (from the peasant revolts of the 16th century, Napoleon’s occupation of Slovene lands at the turn of the 19th century, the decision by the Slovenes of the Veneto region for Italy, the Austrian occupation of Bosnia in the 19th century, and above all the poetry from World War 1, the poems of Slovenes in the Littoral and Carinthia at the start of Fascism and Nazism, to the large-scale production of poetry by both ideological camps during World War 2) reject the thesis that simple adherence to the ideas of the national liberation struggle of 1941–1945 and revolution motivated extensive poetic creativity. All times of emergency motivate the large-scale production of poetry, and not merely the ideological leanings of kits authors.
