When comparing »intimism« and »neo-intimism«, it is clear that both emerged in opposition to previous poetic generations and their engagement. Intimism opposed »construction poetry«, neo-intimism the engagement of mostly modernist authors in the construction of the national state and nationhood. While breaking with the paradigm of engagement, intimists and neo-intimists do not break with the dominant ideological formations. This article discusses in particular neo-intimist poets, noting that they are not in opposition to the (neo)liberal ideology of individualism and its standard of growth. This is confirmed by their participation in the growth mechanisms established on the literary market since 2000.
