Abstract
Pregleda razvoj ljubljanske likovne akademije, povojne grafike in založbe Mladinska knjiga.

Title:The Role of Art Imagery in Population of Tales from Rezija in 70's
Abstract:
The final seminar paper seeks to determine the role of illustrations in the popularization of the first editions of fairy tales from Rezija valley. The fairy tales were transcribed by Milko Matičetov, who was collecting narrative culture among Rezija natives. The editions we are interested in are Zverinice iz Rezije (1973), Tri botre lisičice (1976), Lisica in petelin (1975) and Dvanajst ujcev (1974). All of them were illustrated by Ančka Gošnik Godec and published by Mladinska knjiga, under the editorship of Kristina Brenkova. Firstly, we investigate the reasons why fairy tales were published at all. We describe the development of literary folkloristics in Slovenia and examine who dealt with Rezija valley from ethnological perspective prior to Milko Matičetov. Furthermore, the paper focuses on the illustration and publishing system in Slovenia. It reviews the development of the Ljubljana Academy of the Fine Arts, post-war graphics and the Mladinska knjiga publishing house. We pay special attention to the work of Kristina Brenkova and to the collections in which fairy tales took part. We outline the domestic illustrator tradition and seek to find foreign influences on Ančka Gošnik Godec. We review her work and style development and attempt to determine the place of Rezija fairy tales in her oeuvre.
