Abstract
V magistrski nalogi obravnavamo preživetje slovenskih zdravnikov in zdravnic v primerjavi s splošno slovensko populacijo. V prvem delu predstavimo podatke in tablice umrljivosti. Povezanost spremenljivk s preživetjem preverimo grafično in s Coxovim modelom sorazmernih tveganj.

Title:The survival of Slovenian male and female doctors in comparison with the general Slovenian population
Abstract:
The master’s thesis discusses the survival of Slovenian male and female doctors in comparison with the general Slovenian population. The central method used and presented is the number of life years lost. The first part presents the data and the mortrality tables. The second part presents the methods which were used to verify and analyze the data. To compare mortaliy of the sample with the mortality of the population the standardized mortality ratio method (SMR) is used. The impact of variables on survival is checked graphically and with the Cox proportional-hazards model. The final part of the thesis presents the course of data processing, statistical analysis and verifying the robustness of the analysis with respect to various initial conditions. By analyzing the number of life years lost and the SMR method, we find that on average Slovenian doctors live better than the general population - they lose fewer years during the observation period and have lower number of deaths than expected. We analyze the data separately by gender, medical specialties group and year of entry into the survey. We come to similar conclusions, that on average all groups live better than the general Slovenian population.
