Introduction: Assessment is a part of the occupational therapy process. It is important that occupational therapists have at their disposal assessment tools with which they can determine the person’s participation in the activities. There are various assessment tools for assessing children’s participation in life situations, one of which is the Paediatric Activity Card Sort. Purpose: We were interested in the usefulness of the Paediatric Activity Card Sort for children in occupational therapy treatment, and whether children and their parents evaluate their activities differently. Methods: We first conducted a systematic literature review. This was followed by the determination of activity profiles of children with the Paediatric Activity Card Sort. Three children, who were treated at URI Soča, and their parents were included in the assessment. Data obtained with the Paediatric Activity Card Sort were presented with descriptive statistics. Results: The analysis showed that the match between the responses of children and their parents is between 41.2 % and 100 % depending on the individual category. Discussion and conclusion: The Paediatric Activity Card Sort is a useful assessment tool in the occupational therapy process. Due to the way the assessment is performed, it is an interesting and easy assessment tool for children. The results of our research showed the complexity of translating the original English version of the Paediatric Activity Card Sort into Slovenian language and pointed out the importance of professional terminology.
