Abstract
Disertacija obravnava proces rotacijskega mikro laserskega varjenja z dvojnim žarkom (LVDŽ). LVDŽ je napredna tehnologija rotacijskega laserskega varjenja, ki zmanjšuje varilne deformacije in hkrati izboljšuje produktivnost procesa. LVDŽ tako nudi velik potencial predvsem v velikoserijskem spajanju natančnih cilindričnih komponent. Kljub temu pa sočasna uporaba dveh laserskih žarkov otežuje obvladovanje procesa in podvaja mesta zaključkov zvarnih spojev, kar nadalje povečuje možnosti puščanja zvarnega spoja. Raziskovalno delo je usmerjeno v iskanje rešitev omenjenih izzivov. Predložena disertacija predstavlja pomemben prispevek k razvoju znanosti na področju spajanja miniaturnih rotacijskih komponent. Disertacija namreč znanstveno opredeljuje proces rotacijskega LVDŽ in dokazuje, da rotacijsko LVDŽ v primerjavi z laserskim varjenjem z enim žarkom znatno izboljša dimenzijsko točnost zavarjenih sestavov. Razvita metoda zaključevanja rotacijskih zvarov zmanjšuje nastanek kraterskih napak do mere, ki omogoča izdelavo hermetičnih zvarnih spojev tudi pri uporabi LVDŽ. Pomemben prispevek k razvoju laserskega varjenja predstavlja tudi razviti sistem vzdrževanja na podlagi stanja. Ta rešuje težave obvladovanja procesa LVDŽ in tako omogoča prenos občutljivega LVDŽ v velikoserijsko proizvodnjo.

Title:Quality improvements of circumferential micro two-beam laser welding
Abstract:
This dissertation deals with circumferential micro two-beam laser welding (TBLW). TBLW is an advanced circumferential laser welding technology that reduces welding distortions while improving process productivity. TBLW therefore offers great potential, especially when joining precision cylindrical components in high volumes. However, the simultaneous use of two laser beams complicates welding process control and increases the risk of weld leakage due to the formation of two weld end craters on a single weld. This research work aims to find solutions to these challenges. The thesis is an important contribution to the development of science in the field of circumferential welding of miniature components. In particular, this work scientifically defines the circumferential TBLW and shows that TBLW significantly improves the dimensional accuracy of welded assemblies compared to single-beam laser welding. The developed circumferential weld termination method reduces weld end crater defects to such an extent that hermetic welds can be produced even when TBLW is used. The developed condition-based maintenance system is also an important contribution to the development of circumferential laser welding. It solves the problem of controlling the TBLW process and thus enables the transfer of sensitive TBLW to high volume production.
