Odziv različnih služb na potrebe starih ljudi v Mestni občini Velenje v času epidemije Covid-19 : magistrsko delo

Drugostopenjski študij sva zaključevali v obdobju, ko sta se naša država in ves svet spopadala z epidemijo bolezni covid-19, ki je najbolj prizadela prav starostnike. Aktualna tema naju je nagovorila, da v magistrski nalogi raziščeva vpliv te bolezni na starostnike in na delovanje organizacij, ki pomagajo starostnikom v lokalni skupnosti, iz katere prihajava. Zanimalo naju je, kako v času epidemije gledajo na pomoč starostniki in kako na starostnike oziroma na njihovo stanje in dojemanje gledajo organizacije. V prvem delu magistrske naloge sva predstavili teoretične koncepte o starosti in staranju ter podali demografski opis staranja. Opisali sva potrebe starostnikov in koncept kakovostnega življenja v starosti. Povzeli sva oblike pomoči starostnikom v Sloveniji in se dotaknili vedno aktualne dolgotrajne oskrbe. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni rezultati raziskave, v kateri je sodelovalo pet oseb, starih nad 65 let, uporabniki raznih programov in storitev v okviru organizacij, ki pomagajo starostnikom v Mestni občini Velenje, in osem oseb iz vrst predstavnikov organizacij, ki pomagajo starostnikom. Ugotovili sva, da so bili uporabniki kljub strahu zaradi situacije, v kateri so se znašli, zadovoljni s pomočjo, organizacije pa so si prizadevale, da bi kar najhitreje prilagodile svoje delo in zagotovile pomoč, ki jo starostniki potrebujejo.

• Title: Response of various services to the needs of the elderly in the Municipality of Velenje during the Covid-19 epidemic

Abstract

At the time we have been finishing our second-cycle studies Slovenia and the whole world were facing the covid-19 epidemic, which particularly affected old people. The new situation persuaded us to research the impact of the covid-19 epidemic on the elderly and on the work of organizations that providedassistance to the elderly in our local community. We were interested in how the elderly experienced the aid organizations during the epidemic and how the aid organizations experienced the elderly during the epidemic, their condition and perception. In the first part of the master thesis theoretical concepts of age, aging and demographic description of aging are given. The needs and tasks of aging and the concept of life for elderly are described, forms of assistance to the elderly in Slovenia are summed up, current long-term care is discussed. Five people over 65 participated in the empirical part of research. They were all users of various programs and services among the organizations that offerassistance to the elderly in the Municipality of Velenje. There were also eight representatives of organizations included. We realized that users were satisfied with the services despite the very difficult situation we were all in. Organizations tried to adjust their work to provideassistance the elderly needed.
