Abstract
Predstavnika sodobne slovenske poezije Milan Jesih in Boris A. Novak sta estetsko zvesta tradicionalnim žanrskim vrstam in oblikam klasične pesniške paradigme, kot sta sonet in ep.

Abstract:
Representatives of contemporary Slovene poetry Milan Jesih and Boris A. Novak remained aesthetically faithful to such traditional genre types and forms of the classical poetic paradigm as the sonnet and the epic. The sonnet can be connected with the oeuvre of the first (the collections Soneti (Sonnets), 1989 and Soneti drugi (Sonnets the Second), 1993) and the epic with the poetry of the second (Vrata nepovrata: epos (The Doors of No Return: Epos), 2015-2017). Both authors are characterised not only by a commitment to the canonical patterns of world literature, but also by an innovative attitude towards them, a tendency to transform them, and the active promotion of such approach.

Keywords:Slovene literature, contemporary Slovene poetry, sonnet, epic
