Introduction: Communication is an essential part of providing health care and when is
successful leads to a better treatment outcomes. Communication is the main tool for the
implementation of nursing, and in general, professional communication is important in the
treatment of patients with more sensitive health problems such as infertility. Purpose: The
purpose of this thesis is to present infertility and the importance of professional
communication of nurses with infertile couples. Methods: We used a descriptive method
of work with a review of domestic and foreign literature in the field of professional
communication of nurses and infertility and treatment of infertile couples. Results: The
emotional intelligence of a nurse who recognizes the emotional state of a couple being
treated for infertility can lead to a better infertility treatment outcomes. Both verbal and
non-verbal communication are important. Discussion and conclusion: Using patient-centered professional communication is the only proper way to communicate in health
care. The main guideline for nurses in the treatment of infertile couples is to establish a
confidential relationship and obtain information that significantly affects the quality of
nursing.
