The thesis focuses on the poverty of elderly. The first part presents phenomenon of poverty in various aspects, as well as some statistical data on poverty in Slovenia. In the following, the thesis focuses on the poverty of the elderly in terms of material security, social exclusion and quality of life. One of the chapters also addresses the question of why elderly women are more at risk of poverty. In the case of three humanitarian organizations and the analysis of their projects, the thesis answers the question of the role of humanitarian organizations in identifying and solving the problem of poverty among the elderly.
