Abstract

Title:Development of electronics for electric propulsion test bench control
Abstract:
This master's thesis describes the process of manufacturing of electronics used on the electric propulsion system test bench for Pipistrel Velis Electro certified electric aircrafts. The object of the thesis is to develop electronics that independently and safely control the electric propulsion test bench. At the same time, the electronics monitor different system parameters and send them to the operator's software via communication buses, which are used to generate reports. The first part of the thesis presents the individual components of the circuit, their characteristics and principle of operation. These include the power supply and sensor components; the latter consists of sensors used for monitoring the mechanical and electrical values of the test bench. The thesis further presents CAN and SPI communication buses used to connect components in and outside the circuit. The next segment of the thesis presents the microcontroller used on board and its peripheral units used in the application. This part also describes the microcontroller power supply configuration and programming protocol. The following segment describes digital outputs and inputs and addresses the issue of bouncing of buttons and switches. The fourth chapter of the thesis presents the printed circuit board and its mechanical properties. Finally, the fifth chapter describes the remaining components of the test bench system and the principle of integrated operation of system components as a whole.
