Modern industry is striving to design new systems to be as automated as possible, which are thus minimally affected by human errors, become safer and also easier to use. Such systems have their characteristics defined by the software code, where it is important that the programmer who writes the code also takes these characteristics into the account and incorporates them into the design. Properly written program will fulfil all the functions of the system and will function properly in the environment where it is placed.
This thesis presents the development of a software code for loading clinker onto trucks in the cement industry. The system is based on Siemens software, where ladder diagram programming language was used to create the PLC program and WinCC programming language was used to create the HMI interface.
The developed software code was used to perform a thorough fault diagnosis, while bringing the operation of more complex systems closer to the users who are loading the trucks for the first time. The detailed study and set-up of the weightbridge, we introduced a possible upgrade of the system for legal-for-trade, from which it is possible to calculate the clinker loaded on the truck.
