Abstract
V magistrskem delu sem raziskovala možnosti uporabe podatkov v oblikovanju naše prihodnosti. Osredotočila sem se predvsem na problematiko zasebnosti, etične uporabe podatkov ter ustvarjanja družbe, ki temelji na nadzoru. Opredelila sem trenutno situacijo zbiranja, sledenja in neetične uporabe podatkov. Prav tako sem se dotaknila manipulacije na podlagi profila posameznika, ki se ustvarja s pomočjo zbiranja in sledenja podatkom. Osredotočila sem se na uporabo mobilnih telefonov kot nadzornih naprav, ki jih imamo veš čas pri sebi in tako omogočamo množičen nadzor družbe, pogosto zaradi neozaveščenosti, včasih pa le iz ignorance in mišljenja, da nimamo česa skrivati pred zbiralci naših vedenjskih podatkov. Rešitev tega problema vidim v večji ozaveščenosti posameznikov in regulaciji ter ustvarjanju orodij, ki posamezniku omogočajo varno in informirano uporabo digitalnih produktov, brez da bi bila ogrožena njegova zasebnost.

Title:Data as a design medium / Data as a design medium
Abstract:
In my MA thesis, I explored the possibilities of using data in shaping our future. I focused primarily on privacy issues and the ethical use of data to create a control-based society. I focused on current situation and current practices in use. I also looked into manipulation that is based on the detailed profile of an individual, created through the collection and tracking of data. I focused on using mobile phones as surveillance devices, that we always carry with us and thus enable constant surveillance, due to our ignorance or sometimes just because we think that we have nothing to hide from collectors of our behavioral data. I see the solution to this problem in increasing the awareness among individuals in regulation and in creating tools that enable the individual to use digital products safely and in an informed way, without compromising their privacy.
