The diploma thesis deals with Tadej Golob's crime fiction novels: Jezero, Leninov park, Dolina rož and Virus, in connection to the crime fiction genre, development of the crime fiction genre in Slovenia and the effect that scandinavian crime fiction had on Golob's novels. The thesis includes a detailed presentation of the characters, character relationships, literary space and time, themes, motifs, narrator, language, and literary style. Golob's crime fiction tetralogy is compared to Jo Nesbø's criminal novels; the comparison focuses on the two main characters – Taras Birsa and Harry Hole – their relationships with women, social criticism, the atmosphere, criminals and murders.
