Abstract
Elektronski teodoliti kot samostojni instrumenti za merjenje kotov se v omejenem obsegu še vedno izdelujejo in aktivno uporabljajo po vsem svetu, čeprav prevladuje mnenje, da so zastareli in ob sodobnih tahimetrih že leta neuporabni. V članku podajamo pregled zgodovinskega razvoja teh instrumentov v zadnjih 55 letih. Na podlagi podrobne analize konstrukcije, zmogljivosti, funkcionalnosti in natančnosti smo elektronske teodolite razvrstili v tri skupine enostavni, univerzalni in precizni. Opisane so osnovne značilnosti posameznih skupin.

Title:Electronic theodolites - development and classification
Abstract:
Although they have long been regarded as obsolete, classical electronic theodolites, which are made as standalone anglemeasuring instruments, are still being produced and widely used throughout the world. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the historical development of these instruments over the previous 60 years. A detailed analysis of the theodolite's purpose, accuracy, construction, capabilities and functionality has resulted in the determination of three main groups of these instruments; a brief description of each category is provided.
