Abstract
Med njimi so najpogostejše težave s samopodobo, čustvene stiske, oviranost zaradi učnih primanjkljajev, nerazumevajoč šolski sistem z učitelji in izrazit odpor do šole. Ugotovitve magistrskega dela prispevajo k natančnejšemu razumevanju dvojno izjemnih učencev s SUT/PPPU s strani zaposlenih na osnovnih šolah in njihovih staršev.

Title:Attitudes of gifted primary students with specific learning disabilities and their families towards their educational challenges
Abstract:
The master’s thesis discusses gifted students Wirth deficits in individual learning areas (hereafter SLD) or twice exceptional with SLD (hereafter twice exceptional students) respectively. The purpose of the master's thesis is to enlighten the position of gifted students with SLD in Slovene school and draw attention of professionals in schools to a suitable approach with taking into account special needs of gifted students with SLD. In the empiric part, a qualitative research with a technique of partly structured interviews was carried out, with which we gained an insight into challenges and experiencing of schooling of three gifted students with SLD and their mothers. We researched the suitability of educational support system and the importance of the family environment support. We also touched upon the self-perception of students. The results show that through primary schooling each of the participating students were confronted with some obstacles and challenges. Among these were the most frequent problems with self-image, emotional distress, impairment due to learning deficit, unsupportive school system with teachers and distinct resistance to school. Also, their mothers faced numerous challenges, from initial problems with identification of their child’s difficulties and not understanding double needs of their child to experiencing strains with learning and conflicts with teachers. Students expressed a wish for greater encouragement in developing their gift, mothers would wish for more cooperation orientated teachers and a support group, consisting of parents of twice exceptional students, as well as for more specific instructions for working with their child. The family support in the time of schooling of twice exceptional students proved to be an important safety factor. The research showed that twice exceptional students do not want to stand out in the classroom and a gifted student status does not represent anything special to them. The findings of the master’s thesis contribute to primary school employees’ and students’ parents more detailed understanding of such population of students.
