The composition of sandwich panels has a significant effect on their properties. By changing the surface materials, we have studied their influence on the bending stiffness of sandwich panels. We used three different polyester panels and veneer one to produce the sandwich panels, while the core (expanded polystyrene) remained the same. The effect of the composition was checked by a three-point bending test, while the panels were also exposed to different climatic conditions. We monitored the breaking strength, flexural strength and deformation during bursting. We found that the material used had a significant effect on the bending stiffness of the sandwich panel system, while also noting that it was important which material was directly exposed to the load.
