Slovenian immigration to Germany begun over a century ago. During this period, it has developed spatial patterns of its own, which is the main focus of my master's thesis. Throughout the history, the Slovenes emigrated to economically more developed areas around larger cities and created concentrated settlements. However, today the Slovenian diaspora is more dispersed and the importance of its centres is being diminished in comparison with the past. Besides, the Slovenian minority, have partially lost its role in maintaining contact among Slovenian emigrants. The contacts between the members of the Slovenian diaspora and the connection with the homeland are facing the trend of digitalisation. Meanwhile, Germany is still remaining one of the main destinations for Slovenian immigration.
