In my thesis, I presented good laboratory practices in measuring volume. The thesis describes good practices that must be followed if we want to do our work correctly and obtain reliable results. When we do research, we always have to follow the principles of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) developed by The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. These principles require uniformity, reliability, quality and repeatability of non-clinical safety studies in order to provide quality data. General good laboratory practices are also part of these principles. We need to implement these general practices if we want to do our work in high quality. Following the principles of good practices prevents errors in the implementation of the analysis, but also ensures safe work. In my thesis, I focused on good practices in measuring volume. I described good practices in working with liquids and good practices in working with piston pipettes. Due to their high degree of accuracy and precision and because of their simple mode of use, piston pipettes are often used in measuring the volume of liquids. In order to measure the volume of liquids accurately and precisely, we need to follow certain rules that contribute to reliable results. These rules are presented in the thesis.
