Abstract
Aprila 2019 je bil v Sloveniji privzet standard SIST EN 16907-6:2019 Zemeljska dela - 6. del: Pridobivanje novih zemljišč s hidravličnim nasipanjem sedimentov, izkopanih pod vodo, v angleškem jeziku.

Title:Land reclamation earthworks using dredged hydraulic fill in the Bay of Koper in the light of new EN standard for earthworks : graduation thesis no.: 405/B-GR
Abstract:
Sediments accumulate in waterways and accumulations and need to be removed and disposed of elsewhere to ensure operational safety and functionality. The properties of dredged sediments depend on the geological background and anthropogenic influences. In April 2019, the standard SIST EN 16907-6: 2019 Earthworks - Part 6: Land reclamation earthworks using dredged hydraulic fill was adopted in Slovenia (in English). As part of the thesis, a standard that has not yet come to life in Slovenia was read and a summary in Slovene and an English-Slovene dictionary of new terms with a short explanation were prepared. In the second part of the thesis, we got acquainted with the properties of sediments that are removed from sea waterways and placed on land in the Port of Koper, as well as with the properties of sediments from the Drava river basin. We found that the sediment in the Port of Koper is poorly permeable high plastic clay and that sediments from the Drava river basin have the character of sand, silt and clay and are better permeable. SIST EN 16907-6: 2019 provides guidelines for land reclamation earthworks using dredged permeable sediments, so direct use in the Port of Koper is not possible. With the dredging of sediments from the Drava river basin, new areas have already been acquired. In the light of SIST EN 16907-6: 2019, the use of sediments from the Drava river basin for the land reclamation projects is therefore promising. However, the geomechanical and environmental properties of the sediment must be considered. The sediment must be properly treated before placing, if necessary.
