Today tourism is one of the most important economic sectors. The purpose of this thesis is to present the condition of tourism in the municipality of Grosuplje, with bigger emphasis on the cave Županova jama as one of the main tourist attractions in the municipality. Tourism is poorly developed in the municipality of Grosuplje. However, it has a couple of natural and cultural landmarks, which are not widely known. The municipality still has the potential for growth in tourism. This potential lies in the location near Ljubljana, karst terrain and in the development of natural and cultural landmarks. In the number of accommodations, you can see that there is not a lot of tourism here, as people do not opt for this activity. The number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays has, after a fall in the years following 2008, recovered in the last couple of years and has been growing. Domestic visitors mostly visit for one day. Foreign tourists are the ones who mainly stay overnight. The cave Županova jama is the main tourist spot in the municipality. Since the year 1990, its visit had been falling down until a few years ago when it started to rise gradually because of bigger tourist supply and better promotion. Tourist arrivals, overnight stays and cave visitations were reduced because of the COVID-19 epidemic. In this regard, one sees how receptive and vulnerable tourism is to sudden events such as an epidemic.
