My thesis deals with literature that was published in the Slovenec newspaper between the years of 1939 and 1945. The main part of the thesis is a chronologically arranged bibliography of every literary work published. Using the data I collected while making the bibliography, I then analysed the relation between the issues of the newspaper that include the feuilleton and those that do not, the relation between the issues with literature and those without it, and the relation between narrative, poetic, and dramatic works – I also wanted to know how many works of each category were published in the feuilleton. I researched the ratios of translated literature to literature in its original language and of literary feuilletons published in one part to those published in episodes. I also paid attention to authorship; I mainly focused on the ratio of woman to man authors and on the anonymous author to known author ratio. Lastly, I compared my results to those of my colleagues’ who had dealt with literature in the Slovenec newspaper before me (periods 1901–1909, 1910–1913, 1914–1918, 1919–1924, and 1933–1938). I put the chronologically arranged bibliography of literary works in the appendix to the thesis and the complete list of prose feuilletons on Wikisource.
