Abstract

Title:Literary Journalism: a Case Study of the Novel In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
Abstract:
Truman Capote was an American writer, best known for his book In Cold Blood. He wrote a non-fiction novel, in the sixties, when literary journalism was the most developed. He wanted to write a novel that would be real, in every point of view, not just a text about real events. In my undergraduate thesis I represented the general characteristic and the beginning of the liter-ary journalism, I also described the literary journalism in Slovenia, analysed novel In Cold Blood and highlighted the problems that occur during reading. I have concluded that the nov-el In Cold Blood is not entirely non-fiction literature, because of subjectivism in many parts in the book. The writer writes his opinion in many parts in the book and manipulates with the reader. It is also not possible for all the details to be true and accurate as stated by Capote. In Cold Blood was Capote's the most important book that brought him the most fame and marked his life.
