The main goal of the diploma work is to address the problematic integration of Muslims in Denmark on the basis of existing research and in the context of the concepts of integration, freedom of speech in the media space and cultural identity. Denmark is a multicultural democracy with a modern integration policy. Regardless, it faces intolerance towards Muslims, both those who have lived in Denmark for generations and new immigrants. In this paper, I analyze how integration and (in)tolerance towards Muslims affect Danish immigration and integration policy on the one hand, and the broadly defined concept of freedom of speech on the other. Following the initial definition of the concepts that frame Danish immigration policy, they are analyzed on the example of Danish society, with the availability of statistical sources and other research. I note that the negative representation of Muslims in the media influences the formation of the attitude that the majority population creates about Muslim immigrants. This depiction is reflected in everyday interactions, immigration policy and consequently in integration policy.
