At the beginning of my Bachelor’s thesis, I focus on the stop-motion animation, its development over time, and the wide specter of possibilities that this classical animation technique offers. In the second part, I address the theme of nature by analyzing three specific examples. Apart from the example of a stop-motion animated movie, I also analyze the two works from the broader area of Audiovisual Arts that served me as an inspiration for the practical part of my Bachelor’s thesis. In the third part of the thesis, I describe how I made the stop-motion animated movie The Song of the Whales. I explain the initial ideas and the themes addressed, as well as other phases of pre-production.
