Abstract
V diplomskem delu obravnavam grafični roman in njegove zmožnosti pripovedovanja zgodbe skozi ilustracijo. Po tem ko sem opredelila koncept ilustracije in v njeno področje vključila grafični roman, sem naštela in razložila elemente oblikovanja strani knjig. V primerjalni analizi navajam zanimive in ustrezne grafične romane in animacijo, s pomočjo katerih pridem do različnih spoznanj pri reševanju problema pripovedovanja zgodb. Z opredelitvijo koncepta scenarija, njegovih teorij struktur in elementov zgodb ustvarim podlago za lastno delo. Podam dodaten pregled definicije simbolov, simbolizma in simbola smrti za nadaljnje razumevanje vsebine grafičnega romana. V praktičnem delu naloge razložim psihološko in simbolno ozadje domišljijskih zgodb lastnega dela, vizualno zasnovo in oblikovanje knjige.

Title:Graphic novel about stories which are based on close encounters with death
Abstract:
In my BA thesis, I discuss the graphic novel and its ability to tell a story through illustration. After defining the concept of illustration and including a graphic novel in its field, I listed and explained the elements of book page design. In the comparative analysis, I list interesting and relevant graphic novels and animation, with the help of which I come to various insights in solving the problem of storytelling. By defining the concept of the script, its theories of structures, and elements of stories, I create the basis for my work. I provide an additional overview of the definition of symbols, symbolism, and the symbol of death to further understand the content of the graphic novel. In the practical part of the thesis, I explain the psychological and symbolic background of my stories, their visual design, and the book design.
