The purpose of this diploma thesis is to analyse propaganda activities of Austrian and Yugoslav authorities during the time of the Carinthian plebiscite of 1920. The thesis is separated into two parts: organisation of propaganda is in focus in the first one, more specifically political parties and individuals partaking in agitation. At the same time tactics and means of execution are presented. The second part is intended to analyse the contents of propaganda press of both sides, which includes newpapers with a special regard for those published solely for the purpose of propaganda activities, stickers, postcards, leaflets and posters. Said material is accessible in numerous internet databases, while a catalogue of chosen material was published by Maribor
Regional Archive. All of this is put into a wider historical context with a short presentation of key decisions made by the Entente at the Saint Germain peace conference and their influence on simultaneous events in Carinthia.
