The B. Sc. Thesis introduces different milking systems, their advantages and disadvantages and differences between them, based on thorough research of literature and practical examples. The main purpose was to expose key features of each miking system and to help an investor decide in which system to invest. This Thesis primarily presents milking systems that are greatly represented in Slovenian market like milking stanchions, different milking parlours and automatic milking systems or milking robots. In the second part the interviews with four farmers are displayed, all of them are invested in milk production. Interviews were conducted on their farms, which use milking robots, but of different manufacturers. With these interviews the perception of quality in milk production via milking robots was demonstrated. Based on conducted interviews the conclusion was made that farmers are satisfied with their brand choice of milking robots they went for. Based on the accomplished SWOT analysis it was also disclosed that farmers speak very fondly of it when it comes to advantages and quite hesitantly when it comes to disadvantages and problems of their milking robots.
