Abstract
Kompozitne strukture so v časih napredka tehnologije in potreb po najrazličnejših izdelkih vseh možnih oblik ter z zahtevami po čim manjši masi ter čim večji togosti (čim večji odpor proti deformacijam strukture) velikokrat zaželjena oz. edina možna izbira, saj jih je možno zelo različno oblikovati ter tudi zelo natančno določiti njihovo trdnost z izbiro debeline slojev kompozita. Pogosto se za kompozitne strukture uporablja karbonska vlakna, ki so glede na razmerje med maso in trdnostjo zelo zaželjena predvsem v avtomobilističnem svetu, največ v moto športu in v letalskem in vesoljskem inženirstvu. Zato tudi v društvu Formula študent dirkalnik razvijamo okoli kompozitno zgrajene šasije (monocoque), saj s tem zagotovimo visoko togost primarne strukture dirkalnika (šasije), ki je osnova za dobro delovanje ostalih komponent ter tudi celotnega dirkalnika. Z merjenjem deformacij in posledično določenimi pomiki primarne strukture dirkalnika lahko določimo velikost deformacij ter tako dobimo medsebojno povezavo med deformacijami in debelino kompozitne strukture (laminata). S poznavanjem te povezave lahko pri konstruiranju nadaljnjih dirkalnikov in določitvijo debeline kompozitov na šasiji že približno poznamo deformacije in pomike, ki bodo nastali pri vožnji dirkalnika.

Title:Measurement of deformations of the composite chassis of the Formula student car using strain gauges
Abstract:
In times of advances in technology and the need for a wide variety of products of all possible shapes, and with the requirements for the smallest possible mass and the greatest possible rigidity (the greatest possible resistance to deformations of the structure), composite structures are often desired or the only possible choice, as they can be shaped very differently, and also to determine their strength very precisely by choosing the thickness of the composite layers. Carbon fibers are often used for composite structures, which are highly desirable in terms of weight-to-strength ratio, especially in the automotive world, especially in motorsport, and in aerospace engineering. Therefore, in the Formula student association we develop the car around a composite chassis(monocoque), as this ensures high rigidity of the primary structure of the car(chassis), which is the basis for good performance of other components and the entire car. By measuring the deformations and consequently determining the displacements of the primary structure of the car, we can determine the size of the deformations and thus obtain the relationship between the deformations and the thickness of the composite structure(laminate). By knowing this connection, we can already know approximately the deformations and displacements that will occur when driving a car when designing further racing cars and determining the thickness of the composites on the chassis.
