Abstract
Nov koronavirus, imenovan SARS-CoV-2, je decembra 2020 izbruhnil na Kitajskem in se v roku enega meseca razširil po vsem svetu. Države so želele čim bolj zaščiti prebivalstvo, a hkrati zagotoviti nemoteno življenje. Sprejemale so ukrepe, kot so nošenje maske, izobraževanje na daljavo, karantena, delo od doma itd. in tudi ukrepe ekonomske politike za ublažitev posledic v gospodarstvu. Gospodarstva vseeno ni bilo mogoče v celoti zaščiti, saj je prva škoda bila vidna že januarja, in sicer na Kitajskem, kasneje pa tudi v drugih državah. Prizadete so bile skoraj vse panoge, najbolj pa tiste, kjer je potreben osebni stik s potrošnikom, in panoge, povezane s turizmom.

Title:Macroeconomic effects of the epidemic and the economic policy response
Abstract:
New Coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2 erupted in China in December of 2020. In time period of only one month, the virus has already spread around the globe. The countries wanted to protect their people by taking measures such as mandatory protection masks, distance education, quarantine, and work from home, along the measures of economic policy that were taken in order to preserve the economy. Despite all the actions the economy could not be fully preserved and the first effects were already seen in China by January which was quickly followed by other countries. Coronavirus affected all branches of industry, especially those which are very dependent on the contact with the customer and branches with direct relation with tourism.
