The diploma work describes the management of a clean room inside the working cells of a line developed by INEA, used for automatic assembly of the backlight of the LCD screens. It produces two versions of the screen, for both left- and right-hand-drive cars, which will appear in the market in the upcoming years.
The first part of the thesis describes a clean room in the industry, its operation and purpose. It also presents the ISO standards that must be achieved for a clean room to function properly. Furthermore, the client's requirements are described, i.e., what equipment is required, how should the control of the system be designed, what information needs to be taken care of and what feedback about system operation is required.
Next, the devices that are the integral parts of a clean room are described. The purpose, installation and configuration of all devices are described in more detail. The programmable logic controller used, the input-output modules and the human-machine interface are also described.
The last part describes the software and its use. It presents the PLC and HMI program codes, which control the system and display the information. The program is written in TIA Portal V16 software environment.
